Experience Hvide Sande with all your senses — join us for a flavorful walk!

On this guided FOOD WALK through Hvide Sande, we make 7 different stops along the way. Here you’ll have the opportunity to taste some of the specialties that characterize the area, including its proud fishing tradition. Along the route, you’ll be served smoked fish and seafood, Danish cultural specialties, local beer, and other delicious flavors from the sea and local kitchens.

- Our first stop is at Slusens Fisk & Røgeri, where we enjoy a delicious serving of cold-smoked salmon with a crispy seaweed salad, whose mild sweetness and slight acidity complement the rich fish beautifully.

- We then continue to Hvide Sande Røgeri, where we pick up two types of shrimp to take with us and enjoy in the yacht club house. With a lovely view of the harbor, we savor these delicate seafood treats that Hvide Sande is well known for.

- A fresh oyster served with a glass of sparkling wine is a true little luxury experience. RI10 is one of the town’s best restaurants, offering fresh oysters with herbs foraged from the local nature.

- After three fantastic tastings of salmon, shrimp, and oysters, we stop at Café Gaflen, where we are treated to a sweet refreshment – their own take on a Hvide Sande soft ice cream.

- We visit Hvide Sande Bakery, where we don’t just enjoy the wonderful smell of freshly baked bread – we of course take some with us.

- We stop by Nordsøfisk, where we get the fish of the day. These delicacies are brought along to the auction hall, where the guide рассказывает about both the food and the fish auction while we enjoy them.

- Finally, we head to Hvide Sande Brewery, where we taste three different beers from the brewery.

As we walk through the harbor area and the town’s cozy streets, the guide shares stories about Hvide Sande – about fishing, life by the sea, and the people who help create the town’s special atmosphere every day.

One of these people is Nils, your guide on this tour

Nils is 53 years old and has a great passion for food, ingredients, and life by the sea. He is a restaurateur and ran a French restaurant in Hamburg with his husband for several years. After moving to Denmark in 2022, he worked as a fishmonger – a job that deepened his love for seafood and local fishing traditions. For the past two years, he has worked as a lighthouse keeper at Lyngvig Lighthouse.\ When Nils is not working, he loves being outdoors, catching shrimp, foraging mushrooms, and cooking with ingredients from nature. On the FOOD WALK – Taste of Hvide Sande, he shares his enthusiasm for local flavors, great stories, and life by the North Sea.

FOOD WALK – Taste of Hvide Sande is a cozy and informal experience where tastings, local history, and the fresh western sea breeze go hand in hand. No one leaves hungry – but everyone leaves full and with a memorable experience.

The tour takes place at a relaxed pace and is suitable for anyone who wants to experience Hvide Sande in a new and delicious way.

Price: DKK 599 per person, DKK 499 per child (ages 6–12). All food and drinks are included.

Alcohol-free alternatives are available, as well as juice or soft drinks for children and others who do not drink alcohol. Please note that alcohol is not served to persons under 18 years of age.
