Experience Hvide Sande with all your senses – join us on a flavorful walk!

On this guided FOOD WALK, we move through the town and make stops at 7 different places along the way. Here you will have the opportunity to taste some of the specialties that characterize the area, including the proud fishing traditions. Along the way you will be offered, among other things, smoked fish and seafood, Danish cultural specialties, local beer and other delicious taste experiences from the sea and the local kitchens.

As we walk through the harbor environment and the town’s cozy streets, the guide shares stories about Hvide Sande – about fishing, life by the sea and the people who help create the town’s special atmosphere every day.

One of these people is Nils, your guide on the tour.

Nils is 53 years old and has a great passion for food, ingredients and life by the sea. He is a restaurateur and for several years ran a French restaurant in Hamburg together with his husband. After moving to Denmark in 2022 he worked as a fishmonger – a job that gave him an even deeper love for the ingredients of the sea and the local fishing traditions. For the past two years he has worked as a lighthouse keeper at Lyngvig Fyr.

When Nils is not working, he loves being out in nature and enjoys, among other things, trawling for shrimp, picking mushrooms and cooking with ingredients from nature. On FOOD WALK – The Taste of Hvide Sande he shares his enthusiasm for local flavors, good stories and life by the North Sea.
